| WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to | ||
| recognize Coach Juan de Dios Garcia on his outstanding career as | ||
| a soccer coach at Hanna High School of the Brownsville | ||
| Independent School District; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Coach Garcia earned his 400th career victory as | ||
| Hanna High School's boys' soccer coach when the Golden Eagles | ||
| defeated Mission High School 1-0 on January 14 at the 29th annual | ||
| district tournament; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Coach Garcia's career record at the high school is | ||
| now 400-190-64, and he is beginning his 29th season as the | ||
| school's soccer coach; in addition, he serves as an assistant | ||
| women's soccer coach at The University of Texas at Brownsville | ||
| and Texas Southmost College; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Having achieved his 400th career victory, Coach | ||
| Garcia has reached a milestone unmatched by any other high school | ||
| soccer coach in the Rio Grande Valley; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Coach Garcia has a passion and love for the game | ||
| of soccer, and his exceptional accomplishments and career record | ||
| are a reflection of that enthusiasm and of his outstanding | ||
| leadership and expertise; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd | ||
| Legislature, hereby commend Coach Juan de Dios Garcia on his | ||
| superior coaching career and extend congratulations to him on his | ||
| 400th career victory as a soccer coach at Hanna High School; and, | ||
| be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for | ||
| Coach Garcia as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. | ||
