| WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to | ||
| honor the Texas Council on Family Violence and to recognize | ||
| February 11, 2015, as Texas Council on Family Violence Day at the | ||
| State Capitol; and | ||
| WHEREAS, A leading family abuse organization, the Texas | ||
| Council on Family Violence is one of the largest domestic | ||
| violence prevention agencies in the nation; it serves its | ||
| constituents by working with its allies in Texas communities and | ||
| with law enforcement and legal advocates; and | ||
| WHEREAS, The organization promotes safe and healthy | ||
| relationships by assisting service providers, facilitating | ||
| strategic prevention efforts, and creating opportunities for | ||
| freedom from domestic violence; and | ||
| WHEREAS, The council aims to provide current and | ||
| comprehensive information regarding domestic violence programs | ||
| to local assistance agencies, law enforcement agencies, | ||
| community members, and educators in order to more effectively | ||
| address the issue of domestic violence; and | ||
| WHEREAS, The Texas Council on Family Violence has made a | ||
| difference in the lives of many individuals who are affected by | ||
| family abuse, and it is indeed fitting that it be recognized for | ||
| its outstanding work; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th | ||
| Legislature, hereby commend the Texas Council on Family Violence | ||
| on its exemplary service on behalf of victims of domestic | ||
| violence and extend to its representatives best wishes for | ||
| continued success; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for this | ||
| organization as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. | ||
