SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 79
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Rena Hemphill Bennett, who is retiring from the Office
of the Comptroller of Public Accounts on January 31, 2017, after
a 32-year successful career; and
WHEREAS, Rena Bennett began her career in the property tax
appraisal field by working at the Anderson County and Henderson
County Appraisal Districts; in 1995, she joined the comptroller's
office as a contract appraiser, and she was hired as a full-time,
permanent employee in January of 1999; she is retiring from the
Property Tax Assistance Division after 22 years of outstanding
service; and
WHEREAS, Throughout her career, Rena has handled her many
responsibilities with exceptional efficiency and dedication; she
has been noted for her superior organizational skills and her
professional expertise; and
WHEREAS, An exemplary employee, Rena Bennett is respected
and admired by her colleagues, and her presence at the Office of
the Comptroller of Public Accounts will be greatly missed; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th
Legislature, hereby commend Rena Hemphill Bennett on her many
contributions to the state and extend to her best wishes in all
her future endeavors; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her
as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
