| WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to | ||
| join Texans across the state in celebrating January 30, 2013, as | ||
| Texas Merchandise Vending Association Day; and | ||
| WHEREAS, The Texas Merchandise Vending Association was | ||
| founded in 1950 and is affiliated with the National Automatic | ||
| Merchandising Association; its membership includes snack and | ||
| beverage vending companies, office coffee services, brokers, | ||
| distributors, and manufacturers; and | ||
| WHEREAS, The association is dedicated to promoting the | ||
| common business interests and general welfare of the automatic | ||
| merchandising industry in Texas and to improving its service to | ||
| the public; and | ||
| WHEREAS, The vending industry in our state consists of more | ||
| than 300 small businesses that employ more than 2,000 Texans, | ||
| with more than 2,600 additional establishments operated by sole | ||
| proprietors; these companies exemplify the Texas values of hard | ||
| work, ingenuity, and good business practices; and | ||
| WHEREAS, This vital industry provides the working men and | ||
| women of our state with a wide variety of such products as hot and | ||
| cold beverages, sandwiches, candy, and other food products; it is | ||
| truly fitting that the members of this association be recognized | ||
| for their many achievements and their contributions to our | ||
| state's economy; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd | ||
| Legislature, hereby commend the Texas Merchandise Vending | ||
| Association on its commitment to serving our state and extend to | ||
| its members best wishes for a successful and memorable Texas | ||
| Merchandise Vending Association Day; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared in | ||
| honor of this special occasion. | ||
