Fred Carmona | ||
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the | ||
citizens of San Antonio in mourning the loss of Fred Carmona, who | ||
died May 28, 2011, at the age of 60; and | ||
WHEREAS, Fred Carmona was born September 2, 1950; he was a | ||
1970 graduate of Fox Tech High School, where he was a proud member | ||
of the football team; and | ||
WHEREAS, Mr. Carmona attended San Antonio College before | ||
embarking on a long career in business that saw him work for the | ||
Pepsi-Cola Bottling Company and Stanhome, Incorporated, before | ||
creating his own advertising business, Specialty Concepts; and | ||
WHEREAS, Mr. Carmona was renowned for his organizational | ||
abilities and was responsible for planning numerous parades that | ||
honored the culture and traditions of his beloved city and paid | ||
tribute to our nation's veterans; he was the driving force behind | ||
the Fiesta Flambeau Parade, the Diez y Seis Parade and Festival, | ||
and the United States Military Veterans Parade; and | ||
WHEREAS, A man of integrity, strength, and generosity, he | ||
gave unselfishly to others, and although he will be deeply missed | ||
by his large and loving extended family, he will continue to live | ||
in their hearts and minds for years to come; now, therefore, be it | ||
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd | ||
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby extend sincere | ||
condolences to the bereaved family of Fred Carmona; and, be it | ||
further | ||
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for | ||
his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas | ||
Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in | ||
memory of Fred Carmona. | ||
