	SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 72
	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
	welcome the Texas Council on Family Violence on the occasion of
	its February 15, 2013, visit to the State Capitol; and
	WHEREAS, The Texas Council on Family Violence is one of the
	largest domestic violence organizations in the country; for more
	than

	WHEREAS, This exceptional organization serves its
	constituents through its support of service providers, its
	advocacy on behalf of domestic violence victims before the
	legislature, and its work in developing and instituting
	prevention programs focused on ending domestic violence by
	discovering and addressing its root causes; and
	WHEREAS, The council provides current and comprehensive
	information to law enforcement agencies, legal advocates,
	educators, and the community at large so that the issue of
	domestic violence can be met more effectively; and
	WHEREAS, The Texas Council on Family Violence has had a
	profound impact on the lives of those affected by domestic
	violence, and it is truly fitting that it be recognized for its
	outstanding work; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
	83rd Legislature, hereby commend the Texas Council on Family
	Violence on its exemplary service on behalf of the victims of
	domestic violence and extend to its representatives best wishes
	for a memorable and productive visit to the State Capitol; and,
	be it further
	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
	the council as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
