| WHEREAS, Patti Radle is concluding her service to the | ||
| San Antonio Independent School District Board of Trustees in May | ||
| 2023; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Mrs. Radle has represented District 5 on the | ||
| school board since her election in May 2011, and over the course | ||
| of her exemplary 12-year tenure, she has worked tirelessly in | ||
| behalf of the district, which serves approximately 47,000 | ||
| students across more than 90 campuses; she served the board as | ||
| president from 2015 to 2021; and | ||
| WHEREAS, A former educator, Mrs. Radle taught elementary | ||
| school in San Antonio ISD for 12 years, during which time she | ||
| served as a third-grade teacher at J. T. Brackenridge Elementary | ||
| School and directed a program promoting conflict resolution at | ||
| various SAISD campuses; she has taught at the middle and high | ||
| school levels in other districts as well; deeply dedicated to her | ||
| community, she has served as the volunteer co-director of the | ||
| local nonprofit Inner City Development since 1972, and from 2003 | ||
| to 2007, she was the District 5 representative on the San Antonio | ||
| City Council; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Mrs. Radle holds a degree in theology from | ||
| Marquette University and a degree in English, as well as her | ||
| teacher and bilingual certifications, from Our Lady of the Lake | ||
| University; she was recently presented with an honorary | ||
| doctorate from the Oblate School of Theology; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Through her dedication, professionalism, and | ||
| commitment to excellence, Patti Radle has earned the lasting | ||
| respect and appreciation of her fellow citizens, and her | ||
| contributions to public education in San Antonio will continue to | ||
| resonate for years to come; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th | ||
| Legislature, hereby commend Patti Radle for her years of service to | ||
| the San Antonio Independent School District Board of Trustees and | ||
| extend to her sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be | ||
| prepared for Mrs. Radle as an expression of high regard from | ||
| the Texas Senate. | ||
