SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 710
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Mark Nelsen, who is retiring on April 30, 2013, from
the Office of the Comptroller of Public Accounts; and
WHEREAS, Mark Nelsen joined the comptroller's office in
January of 2008 and served as manager of the data center; he
brought with him a wealth of experience from his career in
private business in the field of information technology; and
WHEREAS, During his state service, Mark used his
experience and expertise to implement the design and
construction of the comptroller's new data center, and he
developed its state-of-the-art operating procedures to ensure
that the center will remain a highly secure and resilient
facility for many years to come; and
WHEREAS, Talented and resourceful, Mark has handled his
many responsibilities with exceptional efficiency and
dedication; he is much admired and respected by his colleagues,
and his presence in the Office of the Comptroller of Public
Accounts will be greatly missed; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
83rd Legislature, hereby commend Mark Nelsen on his exceptional
service in the Office of the Comptroller of Public Accounts and
extend to him sincere best wishes for the retirement years ahead;
and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
