| WHEREAS, Benjamin O'Neill Seago has recently been honored | ||
| by the Boy Scout program for attaining the rank of Eagle Scout, a | ||
| rank achieved by only a small percentage of boys in the program; | ||
| and | ||
| WHEREAS, This fine young man displayed outstanding leadership | ||
| through the planning and execution of a service project that has | ||
| benefited his community; he raised more than $3,000 in donated | ||
| funds and materials and guided a team of volunteers in | ||
| constructing a courtyard cafeteria deck with wheelchair access | ||
| for the children at Saint Joseph Catholic School; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Benjamin advanced through the ranks of Tenderfoot, | ||
| Second, First, Star, and Life classes before reaching the rank of | ||
| Eagle Scout by following the principles of the Scout oath and | ||
| promise; and | ||
| WHEREAS, By becoming an Eagle Scout, this personable young | ||
| man has brought great distinction to himself, his family, his | ||
| troop, his community, and his state; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Benjamin is an exceptional representative of the | ||
| State of Texas and a sterling example to all who have the good | ||
| fortune to know him; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th | ||
| Legislature, hereby commend Benjamin O'Neill Seago on earning | ||
| the rank of Eagle Scout and congratulate him on his great | ||
| achievement; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for | ||
| Eagle Scout Seago as an expression of high regard from the Texas | ||
| Senate. | ||
