| WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to | ||
| recognize the Cutting Edge Youth Summit hosted by the University | ||
| of North Texas at Dallas on April 18, 2015; and | ||
| WHEREAS, This outstanding event is sponsored by the | ||
| Cutting Edge Action Research Center, which conducts research in | ||
| schools, communities, and nonprofit organizations and works to | ||
| promote college readiness, career development, social justice, | ||
| and global citizenship; and | ||
| WHEREAS, The Cutting Edge Youth Summit features a wide | ||
| range of seminars and workshops for students and includes | ||
| sessions for parents, community leaders, and local citizens; | ||
| topics offered for discussion include financial aid, the college | ||
| application process, and the importance of being a global | ||
| scholar; and | ||
| WHEREAS, The Cutting Edge Youth Summit helps students gain | ||
| the skills they need to become leaders in their schools and | ||
| communities, and it is truly deserving of special recognition; | ||
| now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th | ||
| Legislature, hereby commend the organizers of the Cutting Edge | ||
| Youth Summit on their commitment to promoting academic | ||
| excellence and extend to all associated with this exceptional | ||
| event best wishes for continued success; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared in | ||
| honor of the Cutting Edge Youth Summit. | ||
