| WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to | ||
| recognize Val LaMantia, who is being inducted into the Texas | ||
| Women's Hall of Fame for her outstanding accomplishments in the | ||
| field of business; and | ||
| WHEREAS, The Governor's Commission for Women established the | ||
| Texas Women's Hall of Fame in 1984 to recognize extraordinary Texas | ||
| women who have made significant contributions to the Lone Star | ||
| State in the fields of the arts, athletics, business, education, | ||
| philanthropy, public service, and science and technology; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Exceptional women from across the state are | ||
| nominated biennially by their fellow Texans and selected by an | ||
| independent panel of judges for induction into the Texas Women's | ||
| Hall of Fame; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Val LaMantia is being honored in recognition of her | ||
| business leadership and her philanthropic endeavors; she is the | ||
| owner and managing partner of a beverage distribution company and a | ||
| founding member of the STARS Scholarship Fund that has served | ||
| nearly 20,000 students in South and West Texas; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Val will be recognized at the 2023 Texas Women's | ||
| Hall of Fame induction ceremony on November 9, 2023, in Austin; a | ||
| woman of wisdom and integrity, she is truly deserving of being | ||
| honored for her generosity of spirit and for her many | ||
| achievements; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th | ||
| Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby commend Val LaMantia on | ||
| her induction into the Texas Women's Hall of Fame and extend to | ||
| her best wishes for continued success in all her future | ||
| endeavors; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for | ||
| her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. | ||
