| WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to | ||
| recognize the members of the Chancellor's Student Advisory | ||
| Council of The Texas A&M University System; and | ||
| WHEREAS, The Chancellor's Student Advisory Council was | ||
| established in 1982 to provide an avenue through which student | ||
| leaders could address issues common to all campuses within The | ||
| Texas A&M University System; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Composed of two student representatives from each | ||
| of the system's campuses, the council formally meets twice each | ||
| year and serves as a liaison to the system's chancellor and board | ||
| of regents; council members also identify and support emerging | ||
| leaders, encourage student involvement in campus activities, and | ||
| promote communication among the system's institutions; and | ||
| WHEREAS, These exceptional young leaders play a vital role | ||
| in the success of the member institutions of The Texas A&M | ||
| University System, and they are truly deserving of special | ||
| recognition for their hard work and their many achievements; now, | ||
| therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th | ||
| Legislature, hereby commend the members of the Chancellor's | ||
| Student Advisory Council of The Texas A&M University System on | ||
| their leadership and commitment to excellence in education and | ||
| extend to them best wishes for the future; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for | ||
| the members of the council as an expression of esteem from the | ||
| Texas Senate. | ||
