SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 696
WHEREAS, Mia Raquel Reyes is marking a significant
milestone in her life on May 11, 2019, when she celebrates her
15th birthday with family and friends at her quinceañera; and
WHEREAS, Born on May 13, 2004, Ms. Reyes is the daughter of
proud parents Jaclyn and Hector Gonzales and Oscar and Jennifer
Reyes; and
WHEREAS, This bright young Texan is currently in her
freshman year at Knippa Collegiate High School; a straight-A
student, she has already earned 12 hours of college credit, and
she has participated in the National Honor Society and the
University Interscholastic League Social Studies Contest; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Reyes has further distinguished herself as a
talented athlete, excelling at shot put, discus, and basketball
and qualifying for the state golf tournament; she is also an
active congregant of Sacred Heart Catholic Church; and
WHEREAS, Mia Reyes is a source of tremendous pride for her
family, and it is a pleasure to join her loved ones in honoring
her as she begins a new and exciting chapter in her life; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th
Legislature, hereby congratulate Mia Raquel Reyes on the joyous
occasion of her quinceañera and extend to her sincere best wishes
for continued success and happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be
prepared for Ms. Reyes as an expression of high regard by the
Texas Senate.
