SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 687
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize Alan McGraw, who is stepping down as mayor of the City
  of Round Rock in May of 2017, after 16 years of exemplary civic
  service; and
         WHEREAS, Alan McGraw was elected to the Round Rock City
  Council in 2001, and he ran unopposed for mayor in 2008; he is an
  admired public leader who helped oversee a period of notable
  growth and development in Round Rock that set the city on a course
  for long-term prosperity; and
         WHEREAS, Throughout his years of service, Mayor McGraw
  focused on bringing jobs to the city, keeping citizens safe
  through the support of public-safety officials, and improving
  transportation and quality of life for Round Rock citizens; and
         WHEREAS, He helped guide numerous local initiatives, and
  he is noted for his role in economic development decisions that
  brought major businesses and retail outlets to the Round Rock
  area and helped the city thrive; and
         WHEREAS, Mayor McGraw is a highly respected member of the
  community, and he has diligently worked to make the City of Round
  Rock an ideal place in which to live and raise a family; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th
  Legislature, hereby commend City of Round Rock Mayor Alan McGraw
  for his outstanding service on behalf of the citizens of Round
  Rock and extend to him best wishes in all his future endeavors;
  and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for him
  as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
