| Homer Leon O'Fallin, Jr. | ||
| WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and | ||
| commemorates the life of Homer Leon O'Fallin, Jr., who died | ||
| November 22, 2010; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Homer O'Fallin was born June 11, 1934, in Concord; | ||
| he was an exemplary citizen who was admired in his community for | ||
| his many achievements; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Mr. O'Fallin served for more than 50 years with | ||
| the Sheldon Community Fire Department, beginning when it was | ||
| known as the Beaumont Road Volunteer Fire Department; he was | ||
| president of its board from 1996 to 2009 and was a member of the | ||
| Harris County Firefighters Association; and | ||
| WHEREAS, He participated in Freemasonry for more than half | ||
| a century and was a member of First Baptist Church of North | ||
| Channel; and | ||
| WHEREAS, A man of courage, strength, and compassion, he | ||
| gave unselfishly to others, and his wisdom, warmth, and valued | ||
| counsel will not be forgotten by those who knew him; and | ||
| WHEREAS, He was a devoted husband, father, and | ||
| grandfather, and he leaves behind memories that will be treasured | ||
| forever by his family and many friends; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd | ||
| Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved | ||
| family of Homer Leon O'Fallin, Jr.: his wife, Mary Margarett | ||
| Smart O'Fallin; his children, Homer L. O'Fallin III, | ||
| LyMonyannette Schwartz and her husband, Robert, Karen Kay | ||
| Elliott, Charity Noel Nicholas and her husband, Matthew, and | ||
| Timothy Rhyan O'Fallin and his wife, Anna; his brother, Gene | ||
| Gregory; and his nine grandchildren; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for | ||
| his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas Senate, | ||
| and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in memory of | ||
| Homer Leon O'Fallin, Jr. | ||
