	SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 683
	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
	recognize the members of Our Lady of the Rivers Court 2376 of the
	Catholic Daughters of the Americas on the occasion of the court's
	25th anniversary; and
	WHEREAS, The Catholic Daughters of the Americas
	organization was established in 1903 and is one of the oldest and
	largest organizations of Catholic women in the Americas; and
	WHEREAS, Our Lady of the Rivers Court 2376 was founded on
	March 22, 1992, at Sacred Heart Parish in Three Rivers, Texas;
	Sheryl Henry played an instrumental role in forming the local court,
	and she helped guide the organization as its first regent; and
	WHEREAS, Today, the court has 32 members, several of whom
	represent the second or third generation of their families among
	the membership, and together, they uphold the national
	organization's motto of "Unity and Charity"; and
	WHEREAS, Members of Our Lady of the Rivers Court 2376 give
	of their time and talent to serve their parish and their
	community; among their many contributions, they help plan key
	church functions, award scholarships to local high school
	seniors, and gather donations for nursing homes and local
	charities; and
	WHEREAS, The Catholic Daughters of the Americas are united
	in service by their faith, and the members of Our Lady of the
	Rivers Court 2376 reach out with helping hands to tend to the
	parish, the community, and those in need; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th
	Legislature, hereby commend the members of Our Lady of the Rivers
	Court 2376 of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas for their
	many contributions to the community and extend to them
	congratulations on the court's 25th anniversary; and, be it
	further
	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
	the court as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
