SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 653
WHEREAS, A strong democracy depends on a citizenry
involved with the issues of the day and committed to
participation in the political process; and
WHEREAS, Walker County Republican Women has long played an
active role in its East Texas community; since its founding, the
group has worked to support and elect Republican candidates and
to promote the ideals and principles of the Republican Party; and
WHEREAS, The organization currently has 100 members who
are committed to increasing political awareness as they
participate in candidate forums, the Trade Expo and Taste of
Huntsville, Fair on the Square, and the annual Walker County
Republican Reagan Dinner; and
WHEREAS, Through their grassroots advocacy, members of
Walker County Republican Women are making a lasting difference in
their community, state, and nation, and they may take justifiable
pride in their rich history of civic engagement; now, therefore,
be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
83rd Legislature, hereby honor Walker County Republican Women
and extend to its members sincere best wishes for the future;
and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be
prepared for the group as an expression of high regard by the
Texas Senate.
