| WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to | ||
| recognize the Victoria Catholic War Veterans, Saint John's Post | ||
| 1269, on the occasion of its 70th anniversary; and | ||
| WHEREAS, This exemplary post was founded by Catholic | ||
| veterans returning from their service in the European and Pacific | ||
| theaters after World War II; it was chartered by the national | ||
| Catholic War Veterans on March 12, 1947; and | ||
| WHEREAS, In addition to the services it provides area | ||
| veterans, Saint John's Post 1269 is also active in community | ||
| affairs, notably through its support of educational | ||
| opportunities for young people; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Since its founding, the post has faithfully | ||
| followed the Catholic War Veterans motto, "For God, For Country, | ||
| For Home"; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th | ||
| Legislature, hereby commend the members of the Victoria Catholic | ||
| War Veterans, Saint John's Post 1269, on their many contributions | ||
| to the Victoria community and extend to them best wishes for a | ||
| memorable 70th anniversary celebration; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for | ||
| the post as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. | ||
