SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 632
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize Everardo "Ever" Villarreal on his distinguished
  service as commissioner of Hidalgo County Precinct Three and on
  his many contributions to his community; and
         WHEREAS, Ever Villarreal was elected commissioner of
  Hidalgo County Precinct Three in 2020 after a successful career
  as an entrepreneur, and he took office in January of 2021; since
  then, Commissioner Villarreal has prioritized public works and
  the development of infrastructure to improve the quality of life
  for residents of Western Hidalgo County; and
         WHEREAS, Before becoming a public servant, Ever earned a
  degree in criminal justice from The University of Texas-Pan
  American and went on to build a portfolio of residential and
  commercial developments; in his business ventures, Ever worked
  closely with public leaders whose experience and insight
  encouraged him to run for the office of county commissioner; and
         WHEREAS, As commissioner, Ever has worked for the
  interests of his constituents and has been an advocate for the
  improvement of roads and drainage channels; he coordinated with
  the United States Army Corps of Engineers to repair the Rio
  Grande levee to protect residents from flooding; and
         WHEREAS, Under his leadership, Precinct Three secured its
  first grant from the Texas General Land Office for the Palmview
  Drainage Improvement Project and its first safety grant from the
  Texas Department of Transportation; Ever was instrumental in
  providing county-wide free Wi-Fi access, securing funding for a
  public library in Sullivan City, and implementing his precinct's
  first Community Outreach Department; and
         WHEREAS, In the course of his tenure, Commissioner
  Villarreal has responded with wisdom and composure to such
  challenges as severe weather events and the COVID-19 pandemic; he
  has been honored with numerous awards for his outstanding
  leadership, and his ongoing commitments to public service
  provides an invaluable benefit to the people of Hidalgo County;
  now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th
  Legislature, hereby commend Ever Villarreal on his exemplary
  service as commissioner of Hidalgo County Precinct Three and
  extend to him best wishes for continued success in his endeavors;
  and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
