SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 629
         WHEREAS, Ripley House Neighborhood Center is celebrating 75
  years of service to the residents of Houston's East End in 2015;
  and
 
         WHEREAS, Since its establishment in 1940, Ripley House has
  made a positive difference in the lives of countless individuals
  in the local area; and
 
         WHEREAS, The organization works to connect neighbors to
  resources and education and offers a number of vital programs;
  the center's charter school serves students from kindergarten
  through eighth grade, and Ripley House also includes a senior
  activity center, community health clinic, and free income tax
  preparation center; and
 
         WHEREAS, With its enduring commitment to serve the
  community, Ripley House has been an integral part of the East End
  for three-quarters of a century, and it is indeed fitting to
  recognize the dedication of all those who have contributed to its
  mission; now, therefore, be it
 
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th
  Legislature, hereby honor Ripley House Neighborhood Center on
  the 75th anniversary of its founding and extend to its
  management, staff, and volunteers sincere best wishes for the
  future; and, be it further
 
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be
  prepared for Ripley House as an expression of high regard from
  the Texas Senate.
