| WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to | ||
| join the people of Dallas and Ellis Counties and Texans across | ||
| the state in celebrating April 10, 2013, as Best Southwest | ||
| Partnership Day at the Capitol; and | ||
| WHEREAS, The Best Southwest Partnership was established by | ||
| the chambers of commerce of Cedar Hill, DeSoto, Duncanville, and | ||
| Lancaster to promote economic development and educational | ||
| attainment in the area through collaborative marketing and | ||
| legislative efforts; the communities of Ferris, Glenn Heights, | ||
| Hutchins, Midlothian, Ovilla, Red Oak, and Wilmer have joined the | ||
| founding cities to support these important goals; and | ||
| WHEREAS, The partnership combines the strength of | ||
| public-private alliances, the ability to work alongside other | ||
| groups, and a recognition of the unique contributions of each | ||
| individual community, and its spirit of cooperation gives its | ||
| members a competitive advantage in attracting business | ||
| opportunities to the region; and | ||
| WHEREAS, The partnership's core initiatives include | ||
| transportation, education, legislation, health care, and | ||
| planning for progress; it is truly deserving of recognition for | ||
| the enduring impact it has had on the region's growth and | ||
| prosperity; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd | ||
| Legislature, hereby welcome the delegation from the Best | ||
| Southwest Partnership to Austin and extend to them best wishes | ||
| for a productive and memorable Best Southwest Partnership Day at | ||
| the Capitol; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for | ||
| the organization as an expression of esteem from the Texas | ||
| Senate. | ||
