	SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 628


	In Memory
	of
	Dorothy Faye Johnson

	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the
	citizens of Omaha, Texas, in mourning the loss of Dorothy Faye
	"Dot" Johnson, who died September 20, 2010, at the age of 76; and
	WHEREAS, Born February 22, 1934, in Celeste, Texas,
	Dorothy Johnson was a member of the inaugural graduating class at
	Paul H. Pewitt High School in 1951; she married the late Buddy
	Johnson on May 30, 1951, and the couple were blessed with three
	children; and
	WHEREAS, Mrs. Johnson worked for nearly 20 years at
	Tenbrook Clinic in Omaha; a devout Christian who practiced her
	faith in her daily life, she was a loyal member of Naples Church
	of Christ; and
	WHEREAS, She was blessed with a group of close and loving
	friends with whom she played Canasta every week for 38 years, and
	she was an adored member of a large and loving extended family;
	and
	WHEREAS, A woman of courage, strength, and compassion, she
	gave generously to others, and her wisdom, warmth, and valued
	counsel will not be forgotten by those who knew her; and
	WHEREAS, She was an inspiration to others, and although she
	will be deeply missed by her family and friends, her spirit will
	abide in their hearts for years to come; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd
	Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved
	family and friends of Dorothy Faye Johnson; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
	her family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
	Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
	memory of Dorothy Faye Johnson.
