| Dorothy Faye Johnson | ||
| WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the | ||
| citizens of Omaha, Texas, in mourning the loss of Dorothy Faye | ||
| "Dot" Johnson, who died September 20, 2010, at the age of 76; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Born February 22, 1934, in Celeste, Texas, | ||
| Dorothy Johnson was a member of the inaugural graduating class at | ||
| Paul H. Pewitt High School in 1951; she married the late Buddy | ||
| Johnson on May 30, 1951, and the couple were blessed with three | ||
| children; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Mrs. Johnson worked for nearly 20 years at | ||
| Tenbrook Clinic in Omaha; a devout Christian who practiced her | ||
| faith in her daily life, she was a loyal member of Naples Church | ||
| of Christ; and | ||
| WHEREAS, She was blessed with a group of close and loving | ||
| friends with whom she played Canasta every week for 38 years, and | ||
| she was an adored member of a large and loving extended family; | ||
| and | ||
| WHEREAS, A woman of courage, strength, and compassion, she | ||
| gave generously to others, and her wisdom, warmth, and valued | ||
| counsel will not be forgotten by those who knew her; and | ||
| WHEREAS, She was an inspiration to others, and although she | ||
| will be deeply missed by her family and friends, her spirit will | ||
| abide in their hearts for years to come; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd | ||
| Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved | ||
| family and friends of Dorothy Faye Johnson; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for | ||
| her family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas | ||
| Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in | ||
| memory of Dorothy Faye Johnson. | ||
