SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 623
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Eddie Janek on the occasion of his 90th birthday; and
WHEREAS, A man of wisdom and strong character, Eddie Janek
is well known for his generosity of spirit, and he is a revered
citizen of our state; and
WHEREAS, Eddie Janek was born April 22, 1927, in West,
Texas; he served the nation with distinction in the United States
Navy during World War II; he was attached to the United States
First Marine Division and fought in the Battle of Peleliu; he
also served in the navy during the Korean War; and
WHEREAS, He has lived through times and experienced events
that many people only know from history books; his life has given
him a unique perspective on current events, and there is much to
be learned from the insights he has gained over the years; and
WHEREAS, He is beloved and respected by many, and he served
his community as a Galveston County commissioner; Mr. Janek
inspires those around him by his loyalty and patriotism and by
his enthusiasm for living each day to the fullest; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th
Legislature, hereby pay tribute to Eddie Janek and extend to him
best wishes for a memorable 90th birthday celebration; and, be
it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
him as a memento of this milestone in his life.
