	SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 621
	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
	recognize Officer Tina Taylor of the Deer Park Police Department
	for her exceptional work in the community; and
	WHEREAS, Officer Taylor is the crime prevention officer
	for the Deer Park Police Department; in this capacity, she builds
	and maintains relationships with citizens and public entities
	across the city; in addition, she disseminates information
	through various communication channels, including the city's
	website, social media, and public meetings; and
	WHEREAS, Her many important duties include managing the
	department's numerous successful community programs; she has
	also instituted a Vacation Safety School program for young
	people, which teaches youth about such subjects as gun safety,
	stranger danger, 9-1-1, fire safety, and bullying prevention and
	awareness; and
	WHEREAS, She has been instrumental in promoting better use
	of emerging Internet technology by helping the city to establish
	a Facebook page for the police department and by working to
	implement improvements to the city's website; she has led an
	effort to create numerous public service announcement videos
	that have served to educate the public about a variety of
	issues; and
	WHEREAS, She is active in a wide range of community
	organizations and outreach efforts, including the Bay Area
	Council on Drugs and Alcohol, the Citizen's Police Academy, Teens
	in the Driver Seat, and National Night Out, and she has hosted the
	Greater Houston Area Safe Kids April Pools Day; she has twice
	been named the state's Crime Prevention Specialist of the Year;
	now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th
	Legislature, hereby commend Officer Tina Taylor on her many
	contributions to the Deer Park community and extend to her best
	wishes for continued success; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
	her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
