SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 620
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize Dorothy A. "Dot" Adler for her tireless contributions
  to the Dallas Downtown Republican Women's Club and the Texas
  Republican Party; and
         WHEREAS, Dot Adler has been a strong supporter of the
  Republican Party since she cast her first vote, in 1952, for
  Republican presidential candidate Dwight Eisenhower; she began
  volunteering in Dallas County in 1960, and she has been a
  mainstay and a guiding force in the Dallas Downtown Republican
  Women's Club for almost 50 years; and
         WHEREAS, She has served on the boards of the Dallas County
  Council of Republican Women and the Texas Federation of
  Republican Women, whose founding convention she covered as a
  reporter for the San Antonio Light in 1955; she was later
  instrumental in arranging for the federation's archives to be
  added to the DeGolyer Collection at Southern Methodist
  University; and
         WHEREAS, In 1964, Dot Adler served as the Dallas County
  area chair for the campaign of future president George H. W.
  Bush, who was running for office in the United States Senate; she
  again served Mr. Bush during his presidential campaign in the
  late 1980s, and she volunteered for George W. Bush's campaign in
  1999; and
         WHEREAS, This loyal supporter of Republican candidates and
  values has served as a delegate or an alternate in every state
  convention since 1966 and served as an alternate to the national
  convention in 1988; she has consistently contributed to the
  conventions of the Texas Federation of Republican Women and the
  National Federation of Republican Women for over two decades; her
  devotion has been acknowledged with numerous tributes, honors,
  and awards; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd
  Legislature, hereby recognize Dorothy A. "Dot" Adler for her
  outstanding contributions to the Dallas Downtown Republican
  Women's Club and the Texas Republican Party and extend to her
  sincere best wishes for success in all her future endeavors; and,
  be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  Dot Adler as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
