| Maria Guadalupe Cisneros Perez | ||
| WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and | ||
| commemorates the life of Maria Guadalupe Cisneros Perez, who died | ||
| on January 12, 2017, at the age of 69; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Lupita Perez was born to Sara and Praxedis | ||
| Cisneros and grew up in Brownsville; she graduated from | ||
| Brownsville High School, and she attended Texas Southmost | ||
| College; and | ||
| WHEREAS, At the age of 30, she married her soul mate and the | ||
| love of her life, Amalio Perez, and they enjoyed 39 years of | ||
| marriage together; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Over the course of her career she worked in sales | ||
| and as a staff member at the National Bank of Commerce; she | ||
| finished her professional career by serving as an employee of the | ||
| Cameron County Adult Probation Office; and | ||
| WHEREAS, A devout Christian who practiced her faith daily, | ||
| she was a member of Saint Mary's Catholic Church and belonged to | ||
| the Catholic Daughters of the Americas; she and Amalio were | ||
| active in the Mr. and Mrs. Club, and she was noted for being a | ||
| wonderful hostess and a talented cook and baker; and | ||
| WHEREAS, A woman of courage, strength, and compassion, she | ||
| gave generously to others, and her wisdom, her gracious | ||
| hospitality, and her enthusiasm for living each day to the | ||
| fullest will not be forgotten; and | ||
| WHEREAS, She was devoted to her large and loving extended | ||
| family, and she leaves behind memories that will be treasured | ||
| forever by all who were privileged to share in her life; now, | ||
| therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th | ||
| Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved | ||
| family of Maria Guadalupe Cisneros Perez; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for | ||
| her family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas | ||
| Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in | ||
| memory of Maria Guadalupe Cisneros Perez. | ||
