| WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to | ||
| recognize Charles Duncan for the heroism he displayed in saving a | ||
| woman from a burning automobile; and | ||
| WHEREAS, On March 14, 2017, Charles Duncan was traveling on | ||
| US Highway 183 when his truck was hit from behind by another | ||
| vehicle; the other vehicle then careened through a fence and onto | ||
| an open field, where a fire broke out under the hood and quickly | ||
| spread to the grass surrounding the vehicle; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Without regard for his own safety, Mr. Duncan | ||
| rushed to the vehicle and was able to help the woman escape before | ||
| an explosion further damaged her automobile; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Charles Duncan exhibited great bravery and quick | ||
| thinking in rescuing the woman from her burning vehicle, and it | ||
| is truly fitting that he receive special recognition; now, | ||
| therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th | ||
| Legislature, hereby commend Charles Duncan on his heroic actions | ||
| and extend to him best wishes for the future; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for | ||
| him as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate. | ||
