SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 605
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize the Cameron County Mental Health Task Force on the
  occasion of its 10th anniversary; and
         WHEREAS, The Cameron County Mental Health Task Force was
  created by the Cameron County Commissioners Court on December 19,
  2006, to address the lack of mental health services in the Rio
  Grande Valley; and
         WHEREAS, Since its establishment, the task force has been
  joined by more than 25 partner organizations that work to help it
  achieve its mission of pursuing solutions that will ensure access
  to appropriate behavioral health services for local residents; and
         WHEREAS, The many services offered by the task force
  include a behavioral health referral directory, dissemination of
  a mental health fact sheet, presentations on the mental health
  services available in the county, and continuing education
  seminars and networking opportunities for mental health
  professionals; and
         WHEREAS, The Cameron County Mental Health Task Force has
  for 10 years done exemplary work in raising public awareness of
  behavioral health issues, improving access to mental health
  services, and recruiting health professionals to the community;
  it is truly deserving of special recognition for the profound
  impact it has had on the delivery of mental health services in the
  Rio Grande Valley; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th
  Legislature, hereby commend the Cameron County Mental Health
  Task Force on its exemplary efforts to provide behavioral health
  services in the Rio Grande Valley and extend to its staff and
  volunteers best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  the task force as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
