| WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to | ||
| recognize the Cameron County Mental Health Task Force on the | ||
| occasion of its 10th anniversary; and | ||
| WHEREAS, The Cameron County Mental Health Task Force was | ||
| created by the Cameron County Commissioners Court on December 19, | ||
| 2006, to address the lack of mental health services in the Rio | ||
| Grande Valley; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Since its establishment, the task force has been | ||
| joined by more than 25 partner organizations that work to help it | ||
| achieve its mission of pursuing solutions that will ensure access | ||
| to appropriate behavioral health services for local residents; and | ||
| WHEREAS, The many services offered by the task force | ||
| include a behavioral health referral directory, dissemination of | ||
| a mental health fact sheet, presentations on the mental health | ||
| services available in the county, and continuing education | ||
| seminars and networking opportunities for mental health | ||
| professionals; and | ||
| WHEREAS, The Cameron County Mental Health Task Force has | ||
| for 10 years done exemplary work in raising public awareness of | ||
| behavioral health issues, improving access to mental health | ||
| services, and recruiting health professionals to the community; | ||
| it is truly deserving of special recognition for the profound | ||
| impact it has had on the delivery of mental health services in the | ||
| Rio Grande Valley; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th | ||
| Legislature, hereby commend the Cameron County Mental Health | ||
| Task Force on its exemplary efforts to provide behavioral health | ||
| services in the Rio Grande Valley and extend to its staff and | ||
| volunteers best wishes for continued success; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for | ||
| the task force as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. | ||
