| Sandra Lutz | ||
| WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and pays | ||
| tribute to the life of Arlington resident Sandra Lutz, who died | ||
| March 10, 2013, at the age of 57; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Born May 21, 1955, in Omaha, Nebraska, she spent | ||
| much of her life promoting health care, education, and a love of | ||
| nature; as a young woman, she worked for Glacier National Park, | ||
| an experience that inspired a passion for nature that endured | ||
| throughout her life; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Mrs. Lutz was a devoted mother and wife who | ||
| instilled in her two daughters a commitment to community | ||
| involvement; she cofounded the Tarrant County Children's Health | ||
| Insurance Policy Coalition and was deeply involved with the | ||
| Muscular Dystrophy Association, among other organizations; and | ||
| WHEREAS, This multifaceted woman was also widely respected | ||
| as a mentor and a coach and for her support of higher education; | ||
| she and her husband, Larry Lutz, helped establish the Sandy and | ||
| Larry Lutz Reporting Scholarship through the University of | ||
| Nebraska Foundation; she also loved athletics and was | ||
| particularly fond of softball and basketball; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Mrs. Lutz lived a full and gratifying life, and | ||
| she will long be remembered for her warmth and wisdom, for her | ||
| the advancement of others; her memory will be forever cherished | ||
| by her family and many friends; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, | ||
| 83rd Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the | ||
| bereaved family of Sandra Lutz; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for | ||
| her family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the | ||
| Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do | ||
| so in memory of Sandra Lutz. | ||
