SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 600
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Dr. Andrew M. Landry Sr. on the 10th anniversary of his
pastoral leadership at Oak Hill Missionary Baptist Church; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Landry answered the call and became pastor of
Oak Hill Missionary Baptist Church in the Galena Park community
of Houston on February 23, 2007; over the last 10 years, he has
ministered faithfully to the needs of innumerable citizens in the
Houston area; and
WHEREAS, Under Pastor Landry's outstanding leadership, the
church continues to grow in fellowship and to provide
enlightenment, hope, and support to the community; and
WHEREAS, Pastor Landry is a man of spiritual depth and
devotion who gives unselfishly of his time and energy to others;
in addition to performing countless ceremonies, he has counseled
congregants in times of bereavement and hardships and celebrated
with them in times of abundance and prosperity; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Landry is an accomplished theologian who
continues to have a positive influence on the lives of many
Christians; he and the congregation are celebrating the 10th
anniversary of his pastoral leadership on May 7, 2017; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th
Legislature, hereby join the members of Oak Hill Missionary
Baptist Church in commending Dr. Andrew M. Landry Sr. for his
service to his church, his fellow man, and the community; and, be
it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
