SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 600
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Jerry Nickerson, who is retiring on April 30, 2015,
after more than 30 years of outstanding work with the Texas A&M
AgriLife Extension Service; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Nickerson has devoted much of his life to
public service, beginning with his active duty in the United
States Marine Corps; his military service included a stint in
Vietnam, and his many awards and decorations include a Combat
Action Ribbon, a Vietnam Service Medal with bronze star, and a
National Defense Service Medal; and
WHEREAS, His tenure with the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension
Service has included nearly 20 years of service to the people of
San Augustine County; throughout his career, he has been noted
for his superior skills and expertise in a wide range of
agricultural applications; and
WHEREAS, Talented and resourceful, he has handled his many
responsibilities at the extension service with exceptional
efficiency and dedication; and
WHEREAS, An exemplary extension agent, he is respected and
admired by his colleagues and the general public alike, and his
presence at the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service will be
greatly missed; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th
Legislature, hereby commend Jerry Nickerson on his exceptional
service to the people of Texas as an agent with the Texas A&M
AgriLife Extension Service and extend to him best wishes for
continued success in all his endeavors; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
