| Virginia Cude | ||
| WHEREAS, Countless lives were touched by the kindness and | ||
| generosity of Virginia Lee Cude of Gilmer, who passed away on | ||
| July 19, 2025, at the age of 81; and | ||
| WHEREAS, The daughter of Henry and Ruby Keen, the former | ||
| Virginia Keen was born on October 2, 1943, in Polk County and grew | ||
| up with the companionship of six siblings, Wesley, Donald, John, | ||
| A. B., Curtis, and Mary Katherine; she attended Splendora High | ||
| School, where she met the love of her life, Archie Cude, during a | ||
| basketball game in 1958; the couple's wedding on July 13, 1959, | ||
| marked the beginning of a richly rewarding marriage that spanned | ||
| more than six and a half decades; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Mrs. Cude devoted herself to raising her four | ||
| children, Gary, David, Regina, and Kimberly, and with the passing | ||
| years, she had the privilege of seeing her family grow to include | ||
| two additional generations; she delighted in supporting her | ||
| children and grandchildren in all their endeavors and in bringing | ||
| together her loved ones to enjoy her delicious cooking; in her | ||
| leisure hours, she enjoyed traveling and playing bingo with | ||
| Mr. Cude; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Although Virginia Cude will be deeply missed, | ||
| those who held her dear will forever remember the warmth and | ||
| kindness she brought into their lives; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th | ||
| Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory | ||
| of Virginia Lee Cude and extend sincere condolences to the | ||
| members of her family: to her husband, Archie Cude; to her | ||
| children and their spouses, Gary and Susan Cude, David and Cindy | ||
| Cude, Regina Elliott, and Kimberly and Keith Baldwin; to her | ||
| grandchildren and their spouses, Olivia and Erin Elliott, Lauren | ||
| and Cody Nolan, and Colton Chandler; to her great-grandchildren, | ||
| Beau Nolan, Colt Nolan, and Lynx Elliott; and to her other | ||
| relatives and many friends; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be | ||
| prepared for her family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns | ||
| this day, it do so in memory of Virginia Cude. | ||
