SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 6
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize the state's certified registered nurse anesthetists
and to join them in celebrating the week of January 23, 2017, as
National CRNA Week; and
WHEREAS, Certified registered nurse anesthetists play a
vital role in the health care systems of our state and nation; for
more than 150 years, these dedicated professionals have provided
high-quality, cost-effective anesthesia care; and
WHEREAS, Nurse anesthetists administer anesthetics to
millions of patients each year, and they are the primary
providers of anesthesia care in rural communities across the
country; and
WHEREAS, Nurse anesthetists practice in all medical
settings, and they have been the main providers of anesthesia
services for United States military personnel on the front lines
since World War I; and
WHEREAS, There are more than 4,000 certified registered
nurse anesthetists who are licensed to practice in Texas, and
these dedicated health care professionals have had a profound
impact on the lives of countless people; they are truly deserving
of special recognition; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th
Legislature, hereby commend the state's certified registered
nurse anesthetists on their commitment to quality health care and
extend to them best wishes for a memorable National CRNA Week;
and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared in
honor of this state's nurse anesthetists.
