Elizabeth Anne Trimble Kohler | ||
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and | ||
commemorates the life of Elizabeth Anne Trimble Kohler, who died | ||
on January 23, 2023, at the age of 97; and | ||
WHEREAS, Anne Trimble was born on September 4, 1925, in | ||
Fort Worth; in 1938, her family relocated to Austin, where Anne | ||
attended local public schools and graduated from Austin High | ||
School in 1942; a brilliant and determined student, Anne began | ||
her college studies at The University of Texas at Austin at the | ||
age of 16; and | ||
WHEREAS, While attending the university, she met and | ||
married Robert D. Hudson II, and they were blessed with son, | ||
Robert D. Hudson III; Anne returned to complete her studies and | ||
graduated 1947 with a degree in home economics, and she later | ||
earned a master's degree in counseling psychology in 1952; and | ||
WHEREAS, That same year, Anne remarried, and she and her | ||
husband, William Ray Kohler, were blessed with a son, Raymond | ||
Kohler; they enjoyed a rewarding marriage together for nearly a | ||
decade until Bill's death in 1961; Anne began a long and | ||
successful career as a teacher, social worker, and vocational | ||
rehabilitation specialist, in addition to managing her | ||
family-owned rental property and raising her two sons; and | ||
WHEREAS, Anne was an active participant in local and state | ||
politics and a long-time member of the Democratic Party; she | ||
faithfully fulfilled her duties as a precinct judge and served in | ||
the position for several years; she was an avid genealogy | ||
enthusiast and family historian who enjoyed traveling to visit | ||
court houses and cemeteries to trace her family lineages; and | ||
WHEREAS, A strong and devoted mother who was deeply | ||
dedicated to her community as well as her family, Anne raised her | ||
sons by loving example, and she continued her professional career | ||
as an employee of a number of state agencies before retiring from | ||
the Texas Department of Human Resources in 1983; and | ||
WHEREAS, A woman of courage, wisdom, and grace, Anne gave | ||
unselfishly to help others; she was a source of light in the lives | ||
of those who knew her, and her memory will be forever cherished by | ||
her loved ones and by all who were privileged to share in her | ||
life; now, therefore, be it | ||
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th | ||
Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved | ||
family of Elizabeth Anne Trimble Kohler; and, be it further | ||
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for | ||
her family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas | ||
Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in | ||
memory of Anne Kohler. | ||
