| WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to | ||
| recognize Sister Kathleen Coughlin, CCVI, who has been selected | ||
| for induction into the San Antonio Women's Hall of Fame for her | ||
| outstanding work in the field of higher education; and | ||
| WHEREAS, The San Antonio Women's Hall of Fame honors those | ||
| women who have contributed significantly to the San Antonio | ||
| community and the Bexar County region through their | ||
| accomplishments in their profession or field of service; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Sister Kathleen served for six years as the | ||
| provincial superior for the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate | ||
| Word; she is currently vice president of the University of the | ||
| Incarnate Word, and her particular interest is in the field of | ||
| health care education and service with the Catholic Health | ||
| Association; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Sister Kathleen has been instrumental in the | ||
| remodeling of the University of the Incarnate Word School of | ||
| Nursing, and she supported the development of the university's | ||
| Feik School of Pharmacy and its Rosenberg School of Optometry; | ||
| and | ||
| WHEREAS, Sister Kathleen is highly respected for her | ||
| dedication to her work and for her exceptional accomplishments in | ||
| the field of higher education; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd | ||
| Legislature, hereby commend Sister Kathleen Coughlin for her | ||
| exceptional achievements and extend congratulations to her on | ||
| her induction into the San Antonio Women's Hall of Fame; and, be | ||
| it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for | ||
| her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. | ||
