SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 59
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize the Texas Shoot Out BBQ Cook-off; and
WHEREAS, This exceptional event is produced annually, in
April, by the Andrews Chamber of Commerce and Visitor Center; and
WHEREAS, Sanctioned by the International Barbeque Cookers
Association as one of the organization's annual state cook-offs,
the Texas Shoot Out competition features talented chefs facing
off against one another to produce the tastiest entries in the
categories of chicken, ribs, pork, and brisket, each of which is
judged on appearance, taste, and tenderness; and
WHEREAS, Texans are noted for their love of barbecue, and
the Texas Shoot Out BBQ Cook-off is sure to provide spirited
competition and first-rate cuisine that will satisfy the most
discriminating palates; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th
Legislature, hereby commend the sponsors of and participants in
the Texas Shoot Out BBQ Cook-off and extend to them best wishes
for a successful event; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
them as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
