SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 583
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize Morgan's Wonderland for its exceptional work in
  support of those in the community with special needs; and
         WHEREAS, Morgan's Wonderland is a theme park created by the
  Gordon Hartman Family Foundation to promote inclusion and to help
  those with special needs fully enjoy the outdoors; the first
  theme park of its kind, Morgan's Wonderland is located on 25
  acres in Northeast San Antonio and offers family fun for people
  of all ages and abilities; and
         WHEREAS, This unique park is named in honor of Morgan
  Hartman, whose soaring spirit in the face of physical and
  cognitive challenges inspired her parents to create a haven, not
  only for those with special needs, but also for their families,
  caregivers, and friends; and
         WHEREAS, The park is completely wheelchair accessible and
  features more than 25 elements, including rides, playgrounds,
  gardens, a catch-and-release fishing lake, an amphitheater, and
  picnic areas; soon to open in 2017 is Morgan's Inspiration
  Island, the world's first ultra-accessible splash park; the park
  also works closely with the Children's Rehabilitation Institute
  of TeletonUSA and with South Texas Regional Adaptive and
  Paralympic Sports to offer further opportunities for those with
  special needs; and
         WHEREAS, Another of the park's special offerings is the
  Academy at Morgan's Wonderland, a nationally accredited,
  nonprofit learning center that enables special needs students to
  achieve their maximum potential; it is truly fitting that this
  exceptional theme park receive special recognition for its
  dedication to its mission and for its great success; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th
  Legislature, hereby commend Morgan's Wonderland for its
  commitment to inclusion and opportunity for all and extend to the
  Gordon Hartman Family Foundation best wishes for continued
  success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  Morgan's Wonderland as an expression of esteem from the Texas
  Senate.
