| WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the | ||
| citizens of Austin in mourning the loss of Caroline Natalie | ||
| Richards, who died January 9, 2015, at the young age of 12; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Caroline was the treasured daughter of Mark and | ||
| Lauren Richards and granddaughter of Jane and Lawrence Graham; | ||
| she attended Hyde Park Middle School, where she excelled in | ||
| athletics and was always surrounded by friends; and | ||
| WHEREAS, She was a happy child who was known for her | ||
| vibrant smile, even in the face of her struggle with | ||
| osteosarcoma; her generosity knew no bounds, and she was always | ||
| there to help those who she felt needed support; and | ||
| WHEREAS, She loved sports, giant hair bows, shopping, and | ||
| singing, and she cherished time spent with her labradoodles, | ||
| Talulah and Olive; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Caroline was proud to be honored as one of five | ||
| ambassadors of the Saint Baldrick's Foundation, an organization | ||
| that raises funds for pediatric cancer research and provides | ||
| support to families; and | ||
| WHEREAS, This brave young girl enriched the lives of all | ||
| who knew her through her love, laughter, and kindness; her | ||
| dauntless spirit was an inspiration to many, and she leaves | ||
| behind memories that will be treasured forever by all who were | ||
| privileged to share in her life; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th | ||
| Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved | ||
| family of Caroline Natalie Richards; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for | ||
| her family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas | ||
| Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in | ||
| memory of Caroline Richards. | ||
