| Maria S. Ledesma | ||
| WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and | ||
| commemorates the life of Maria S. Ledesma, who died September 8, | ||
| 2021, at the age of 94; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Maria Ledesma shaped a joyful and rewarding life | ||
| centered on her strong spiritual faith and her devotion to her | ||
| family and friends, and her enthusiasm for living each day to the | ||
| fullest set an inspiring example for others to follow; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Maria was born to Ester and Agapito Serda on | ||
| February 2, 1927; she shared many happy years of marriage with | ||
| her beloved husband, the late Nick Gandora Ledesma, and she | ||
| instilled in their five children the importance of hard work and | ||
| strong values; her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and | ||
| great-great-grandchildren were a source of immense pride for | ||
| her; and | ||
| WHEREAS, A beloved matriarch and a cherished friend to | ||
| many, Maria was a charming and gracious lady, and she was noted | ||
| for her warmth, her sense of humor, and her vivacious, | ||
| compassionate spirit; she loved dancing and singing and social | ||
| gatherings with friends and family, and she was an enthusiastic | ||
| cook, baker, shopper, and gardener; she took joy in helping | ||
| others, and she was a longtime member of the congregation of Our | ||
| Lady of Guadalupe Church; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Maria Ledesma devoted herself fully in all her | ||
| endeavors, and she treasured each special and joyful moment in | ||
| life; she was a source of inspiration and light in the lives of | ||
| others, and she will long be remembered with great affection and | ||
| admiration by all who were privileged to share in her life; now, | ||
| therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th | ||
| Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby extend sincere | ||
| condolences to the bereaved family of Maria S. Ledesma; and, be | ||
| it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for | ||
| her family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas | ||
| Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in | ||
| memory of Maria Ledesma. | ||
