| WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to | ||
| recognize Jaime Rangel, who has been named Lord High Chamberlain | ||
| for the 2011 Buccaneer Days Coronation Pageant, the Court of | ||
| Legendary Couture, which is taking place April 28, 2011; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Begun in 1938, this outstanding festival is | ||
| sponsored by the Buccaneer Commission, a nonprofit organization | ||
| whose mission is to provide the citizens of South Texas with | ||
| exceptional entertainment and to expand educational | ||
| opportunities for area students by awarding scholarships; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Jaime Rangel is a 1994 graduate of Ray High | ||
| School; he earned a bachelor's degree from Vanderbilt University | ||
| and a law degree from the Texas Tech University School of Law; he | ||
| serves as an attorney with the Rangel Law Firm in Corpus Christi; | ||
| and | ||
| WHEREAS, Mr. Rangel is active in numerous civic and | ||
| professional organizations; he serves on the boards of Foster | ||
| Angels of South Texas, the Corpus Christi Young Lawyers | ||
| Association, and the Federal Bar Association for the Southern | ||
| District of Texas; he is a fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation and | ||
| has served as president of Beachcombers; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Jaime Rangel has served the people of Corpus | ||
| Christi with distinction, and he is truly deserving of this | ||
| outstanding honor; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd | ||
| Legislature, hereby commend Jaime Rangel on his many | ||
| contributions to his community and extend congratulations to him | ||
| on being named Lord High Chamberlain of the 2011 Buccaneer Days | ||
| Coronation Pageant, the Court of Legendary Couture; and, be it | ||
| further | ||
| RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for | ||
| him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. | ||
