WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to | ||
recognize Jaime Rangel, who has been named Lord High Chamberlain | ||
for the 2011 Buccaneer Days Coronation Pageant, the Court of | ||
Legendary Couture, which is taking place April 28, 2011; and | ||
WHEREAS, Begun in 1938, this outstanding festival is | ||
sponsored by the Buccaneer Commission, a nonprofit organization | ||
whose mission is to provide the citizens of South Texas with | ||
exceptional entertainment and to expand educational | ||
opportunities for area students by awarding scholarships; and | ||
WHEREAS, Jaime Rangel is a 1994 graduate of Ray High | ||
School; he earned a bachelor's degree from Vanderbilt University | ||
and a law degree from the Texas Tech University School of Law; he | ||
serves as an attorney with the Rangel Law Firm in Corpus Christi; | ||
and | ||
WHEREAS, Mr. Rangel is active in numerous civic and | ||
professional organizations; he serves on the boards of Foster | ||
Angels of South Texas, the Corpus Christi Young Lawyers | ||
Association, and the Federal Bar Association for the Southern | ||
District of Texas; he is a fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation and | ||
has served as president of Beachcombers; and | ||
WHEREAS, Jaime Rangel has served the people of Corpus | ||
Christi with distinction, and he is truly deserving of this | ||
outstanding honor; now, therefore, be it | ||
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd | ||
Legislature, hereby commend Jaime Rangel on his many | ||
contributions to his community and extend congratulations to him | ||
on being named Lord High Chamberlain of the 2011 Buccaneer Days | ||
Coronation Pageant, the Court of Legendary Couture; and, be it | ||
further | ||
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for | ||
him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. | ||
