| WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to | ||
| recognize Lupe G. Ochoa, who has been selected for induction into | ||
| the San Antonio Women's Hall of Fame for her outstanding work in | ||
| civic leadership; and | ||
| WHEREAS, The San Antonio Women's Hall of Fame honors those | ||
| women who have contributed significantly to the San Antonio | ||
| community and the Bexar County region through their | ||
| accomplishments in their profession or field of service; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Lupe Ochoa began her civic involvement at an early | ||
| age; she worked with the Youth Services Project in San Antonio | ||
| and went on to serve with the National Women's Employment | ||
| Program; she forged a longtime successful career with the United | ||
| States Census Bureau that spanned more than three decades; and | ||
| WHEREAS, She continues to serve on a variety of boards, and | ||
| for over 25 years, she has been an active member of Hispanas | ||
| Unidas and the Hispanic Women's Network of Texas; she has | ||
| received the governor's Yellow Rose of Texas award and has been | ||
| recognized as an Outstanding Hispanic Woman Role Model; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Lupe Ochoa is highly respected for her dedication | ||
| to her work and for her outstanding accomplishments as a civic | ||
| leader, and she is an inspiration to women across our state; now, | ||
| therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, | ||
| 83rd Legislature, hereby commend Lupe G. Ochoa for her | ||
| exceptional achievements and extend congratulations to her on | ||
| her induction into the San Antonio Women's Hall of Fame; and, be | ||
| it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for | ||
| her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. | ||
