	SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 503
	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
	recognize the Patriot Guard Riders for their exemplary efforts in
	support of the families of veterans and active-duty military
	members who have lost a loved one; and

	WHEREAS, Founded in response to protests at the funerals of
	fallen American service members, the Patriot Guard Riders are a
	group of citizens from across the nation whose respect for the
	sacrifices made by the men and women of our military and their
	families inspires and compels them to stand with those families
	as they mourn those who have given the last full measure of
	devotion to their country; and

	WHEREAS, This dedicated nonprofit organization provides,
	at the request of the bereaved family, a motorcycle honor guard to
	pay tribute to the honored memory of our nation's veterans and to
	shield mourners from the potential disruption of protestors; and

	WHEREAS, This inspirational alliance of people of all
	political persuasions embodies the American ideals of patriotism
	and compassion, and its members are truly deserving of
	recognition for their loyal dedication to service; now,
	therefore, be it

	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 82nd
	Legislature, hereby commend the Patriot Guard Riders on their
	commitment to supporting the families of the nation's service
	members and veterans and extend to them best wishes for continued
	success in all their future endeavors; and, be it further

	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
	this outstanding organization as an expression of high regard
	from the Texas Senate.
