| WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to | ||
| recognize Barbara Puckett Todd, who has been selected for | ||
| induction into the San Antonio Women's Hall of Fame for her | ||
| outstanding work in the field of agriculture and ranching; and | ||
| WHEREAS, The San Antonio Women's Hall of Fame honors those | ||
| women who have contributed significantly to the San Antonio | ||
| community and the Bexar County region through their | ||
| accomplishments in their profession or field of service; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Involved in agriculture and ranching since | ||
| childhood, Barbara Todd was born into a multigenerational | ||
| ranching family; she is the owner of a small ranch, and for more | ||
| than 30 years, she has worked tirelessly with the San Antonio | ||
| Livestock Exposition in a variety of volunteer positions; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Barbara Todd is also an accomplished visual | ||
| artist and educator, and her teaching career has spanned 30 | ||
| years; she currently teaches art and art history at Judson High | ||
| School, and she is noted for incorporating her ranching heritage | ||
| into her work as an artist and an educator; she encourages young | ||
| women to consider agricultural careers and has contributed | ||
| immensely to the success of the annual scholarship competition | ||
| sponsored by the San Antonio Livestock Exposition's Western Art | ||
| Committee; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Barbara Todd is highly respected for her | ||
| dedication to her work and for her outstanding accomplishments as | ||
| an art teacher and rancher; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd | ||
| Legislature, hereby commend Barbara Puckett Todd for her | ||
| exceptional achievements and extend congratulations to her on | ||
| her induction into the San Antonio Women's Hall of Fame; and, be | ||
| it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for | ||
| her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. | ||
