| WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to | ||
| welcome the members of the Republican women's clubs from Senate | ||
| District 5 who are visiting the Capitol on the occasion of Texas | ||
| Federation of Republican Women Legislative Day; and | ||
| WHEREAS, The Texas Federation of Republican Women was | ||
| established in 1955 to make it possible for women to have an | ||
| influence on the way all levels of government manage such vital | ||
| issues as health, crime, education, taxes, and financial | ||
| security; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Representing Senate District 5 at the legislative | ||
| day are Republican Women of Brazos Valley, Grimes County | ||
| Republican Women, Robertson County Republican Women, Walker | ||
| County Republican Women, Williamson County Republican Women, | ||
| Republican Women of Milam County, Georgetown Area Republican | ||
| Women, and Northwest Austin Republican Women; and | ||
| WHEREAS, The members of these outstanding organizations | ||
| have played a central role in furthering the federation's goals | ||
| of electing Republicans to office, educating voters, encouraging | ||
| Republican women to run for office, and inspiring broader | ||
| participation in the political process; and | ||
| WHEREAS, The women of these clubs have been instrumental in | ||
| the success of Republican Party candidates in Senate District 5, | ||
| and it is truly fitting that they receive special recognition for | ||
| their hard work and dedication; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th | ||
| Legislature, hereby commend the members of the Republican | ||
| women's clubs in Senate District 5 on their contributions to the | ||
| Republican Party of Texas and extend to them best wishes for an | ||
| enjoyable and productive visit to Austin on Texas Federation of | ||
| Republican Women Legislative Day; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for | ||
| them as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. | ||
