SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 488
WHEREAS, Sharing a deep bond of love that has spanned three
decades, Jeffrey and Carlene St. John celebrated their 30th
wedding anniversary on March 10, 2020; and
WHEREAS, The couple first met while they were working at
American Cable in Pompano Beach, Florida; they exchanged
wedding vows at the First Pentecostal Church in Deerfield
Beach in 1990; and
WHEREAS, A native Texan, Jeffrey St. John is a self-taught
computer expert who worked his way up in the engineering field;
returning to school later in life to further his skills, he
received his bachelor's degree in business from The University of
Texas at Arlington in December 2019, and he is currently employed
at Lincoln Financial; and
WHEREAS, Carlene St. John immigrated to the United States
from Jamaica when she was 12 years old; she has served as a nurse
for more than 20 years, and she currently works for Cedar Niles
Internal Medicine; she earned her master's degree in nursing from
The University of Texas at Arlington in December 2017; and
WHEREAS, The St. Johns are the loving parents of three
daughters, Jamie, Julia, and Jennifer; the couple instilled in
their children the importance of faith, hard work, and treating
others with kindness; after endeavoring to provide their
daughters with the best life possible, the St. Johns have taken
great pride in seeing them succeed in meeting their educational
and career goals; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the rewarding journey they have
shared, Jeffrey and Carlene St. John have remained dedicated to
their family and their faith, and the strength of their love and
commitment ensures that many more joyful times await them; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th
Legislature, hereby congratulate Jeffrey and Carlene St. John on
their 30th wedding anniversary and extend to them warmest best
wishes for the future; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be
prepared for Mr. and Ms. St. John as an expression of high regard
from the Texas Senate.
