SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 48
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  join the Guadalupe Valley Young Marines and Texans across the
  state in celebrating the last week of October, 2021, as Red
  Ribbon Week; and
 
         WHEREAS, The mission of the Young Marines program is to
  develop good citizenship and promote a healthy, drug-free
  lifestyle among young people; and
 
         WHEREAS, Drug awareness and education play a vital role in
  the Young Marines' fight against illicit drug use and
  trafficking; the young men and women in this outstanding
  organization work diligently during Red Ribbon Week to educate
  others and to raise awareness of the dangers associated with drug
  use; and
 
         WHEREAS, Red Ribbon Week provides an opportunity for all
  citizens to make a difference in the lives of young people by
  helping to educate them about the consequences of illegal drug
  use; now, therefore, be it
 
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th
  Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby commend the Guadalupe
  Valley Young Marines on their commitment to reducing drug usage
  and trafficking and extend to them best wishes for a productive
  and memorable Red Ribbon Week in 2021; and, be it further
 
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  this exemplary organization as an expression of esteem from the
  Texas Senate.
