| WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to | ||
| recognize Amber Anderson Mostyn, who is being honored at the 2017 | ||
| Annie's List Houston Luncheon; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Amber Mostyn is a native of Fort Worth and a | ||
| graduate of Trinity Valley School; she earned degrees in Spanish | ||
| and anthropology from Vanderbilt University and worked for a time | ||
| in Washington, D.C., before returning to Texas and earning a | ||
| degree from The University of Texas School of Law; and | ||
| WHEREAS, While attending law school, she excelled in trial | ||
| advocacy and received numerous awards and honors, including | ||
| induction into the prestigious Order of the Barristers; she | ||
| currently practices law in the fields of personal injury and | ||
| wrongful death, and she has also served as an adjunct professor | ||
| at Texas Wesleyan Law School and the South Texas College of Law | ||
| Houston; and | ||
| WHEREAS, She has made extraordinary investments of her | ||
| time and energy in support of the goals of Annie's List, and her | ||
| successes in the field of electoral politics have served as an | ||
| inspiration to countless organizers and candidates; she is also a | ||
| proud supporter of educational foundations and programs that | ||
| have a positive impact on our state; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Amber Mostyn is a leading Houstonian with an | ||
| influential role in the political arena in Texas, and it is truly | ||
| fitting that she receive special recognition; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th | ||
| Legislature, hereby commend Amber Anderson Mostyn on her many | ||
| achievements and extend to her best wishes for continued success | ||
| in all her endeavors; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for | ||
| her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. | ||
