SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 46
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Dr. Jacqueline Walters, who is the keynote speaker for
the 2017 Founders' Day Luncheon hosted by the Alpha Xi Omega
Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated; and
WHEREAS, The Alpha Xi Omega Chapter of the Alpha Kappa
Alpha Sorority was established on June 6, 1929; through programs
of service, the chapter has long worked to encourage young women
to develop high standards of character and to strive for excellence
in educational achievement; the chapter annually recognizes
long-standing members at its Founders' Day Luncheon; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Jacqueline Walters is a distinguished member
of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority; she is a nationally celebrated
obstetrician and gynecologist and is a star in the reality
television show, Married to Medicine; she is a two-time breast
cancer survivor; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Walters exemplifies the highest ideals of the
Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, and it is truly fitting that she is
serving as keynote speaker for the Alpha Xi Omega Chapter's 2017
Founders' Day Luncheon; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th
Legislature, hereby commend Dr. Jacqueline Walters for her
exemplary membership in the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority and for
her exceptional accomplishments and extend best wishes for the
future to her and to all members of the Alpha Xi Omega Chapter;
and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her
as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
