SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 457
         WHEREAS, When they married many years ago, Eunice and
  Nicholas Peet placed great faith and trust in one another, and
  they have been amply rewarded, as they are celebrating their 75th
  wedding anniversary; and
 
         WHEREAS, Eunice Ruth Webber and Nicholas Peter Peet
  married on March 28, 1942, in Baytown; the world has changed
  considerably during the years of their marriage, yet they have
  continued to cherish traditional family values; and
 
         WHEREAS, Mr. Peet is a native of Houston and a graduate of
  Rice University; he worked for many years as a chemical engineer
  with the Humble Oil and Refining Company; Mrs. Peet, after
  raising her children, earned a degree from the University of
  Houston and served as a teacher with the Fort Bend Independent
  School District; after they both retired, they moved to Conroe in
  1982; and
 
         WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Peet were blessed with two daughters
  and three sons, and they raised them in the Baptist faith; they
  are devout members of First Baptist Church in Conroe, and their
  long and happy union is truly an inspiration to us all; now,
  therefore, be it
 
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th
  Legislature, hereby extend best wishes to Eunice and Nicholas
  Peet on the grand occasion of their 75th wedding anniversary;
  and, be it further
 
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  this distinguished couple as a memento of this special day in
  their lives.
