SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 45
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize the Alpha Xi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha
Sorority, Incorporated, on the grand occasion of its 2017
Founders' Day Luncheon on February 4; and
WHEREAS, The Alpha Xi Omega Chapter of the Alpha Kappa
Alpha Sorority was established on June 6, 1929; through programs
of service, the chapter has long worked to encourage young women
to develop high standards of character and to strive for excellence
in educational achievement; and
WHEREAS, The Alpha Xi Omega Chapter serves as an example of
excellence within the sorority, and its members are committed to
implementing quality programs that benefit the community and
actively promote the goals of the distinguished sorority; from
its inception, the chapter has given scholarships to Dallas
students and provided social services for women and children; and
WHEREAS, The 2017 Founders' Day Luncheon is an opportunity
to reflect on the sorority's rich history and to pay tribute to
the many great women of the Alpha Xi Omega Chapter who have helped
the organization continue to fulfill its mission of service; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th
Legislature, hereby commend the members of the Alpha Xi Omega
Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, for their
many contributions to society and extend to them best wishes for
a memorable 2017 Founders' Day Luncheon; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
the chapter as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
